The definition of dropouts used in the RETAIN project was decided at the second partner meeting that took place 9-11 April 2008 in Bradford, UK.

As definitions of "Drop Out" vary we agreed on a common definition corresponding to the one in the WATCH handbook (WATCH, page 13) as it is quite open and can be applicable in all the partner countries.

“A dropout is someone who has not graduated from, or is not currently enrolled in, a full-time approved education programme”
